Are You a New Springfield Resident? 

  • Sign up for water/gas/electric utility service by visiting CityUtilities, 301 E. Central St. Call 417-863-9000 for complete details. Their customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
  • Do you own pets? Approved breeds of dogs and cats allowed at Hickory Village 55 Plus. A $500 per-pet, non-refundable fee applies for each animal. Please contact us to discuss your specific pet breed. The city of Springfield has animal ordinances and complete details can be found HERE.
  • What cable and internet providers are in the area? We are serviced by Mediacom Xtreme at 844.987.3260; AT&T U-verse at 844.780.0473; Dish Network at 855.318.0572; or Directv at 800.531.5000. Please remember that satellite dishes cannot be attached to the roof or the side of any building in our complex.
  • Is trash service included in my rent? Yes, weekly trash service is included provided by WCA Green for Life. Curbside recycling is not available at this time.
  • How do I recycle my items since curbside pickup is not available? The City of Springfield operates and maintains public three drop-off recycling centers throughout the Springfield area: Franklin Avenue Recycling Center, Lone Pine Recycling Center and the Yard Waste Recycling Center. All recycling services and products will be available during their usual operating hours, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday–Saturday at the YRC, Lone Pine, Franklin Ave.  Household chemical collection is by appointment only.
  • Is lawn care included in my rent? Yes, all lawn care is provided by Hickory Village 55 Plus.
  • A new home may mean new bedding. To keep old beds out of landfills, the city of Springfield accepts mattresses and box springs at two recycling facilities. The service is available at the Lone Pine Avenue Recycling Center at 3020 S. Lone Pine Ave., and the Springfield Sanitary Landfill, 3545 W. Farm Road 34. The city charges $15 per piece of unwanted sleeping hardware, regardless of size.
  • A new home may mean new electronics. The city of Springfield doesn’t recycle electronics, but there are several places in town that do including Complete Electronics Recycling, Computer Recycling Center and ecoATM.

The Springfield Greene County Park Board offers an incredible selection of activities and fun for all ages. It’s been said that “many hands make light work.” Nonprofit organizations in Springfield and Greene County have opportunities for you to help right now. The city of Springfield has developed an online resource that lists many nonprofits and their immediate needs. If you’re ready to share your time, talent and resources, organizations including Ozarks Food Harvest, Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Harmony House, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Care to Learn, Ozarks Literacy Council, Habitat for Humanity and many others have ways to get you involved.
